TCA TYPE-APPROVES FMC650 IN AUSTRALIA
3 de marzo de 2025
Teltonika is a global provider that never loses sight of local market needs. Whether it is specific functionality, unique use cases, or local regulations, we make sure that our solutions meet the needs of businesses in every country we operate. This time the spotlight is on Australia. In a first-of-its kind agreement, Transport Certification Australia (TCA) has type-approved Teltonika’s PROFESSIONAL category tracker FMC650 as a ‘white-label’ telematics device.

FMx6 series devices are designed for the most demanding customers: versatile inputs and outputs, support of multiple types of data, and a wide range of dedicated accessories make FMC650 a go-to device for industries such as mining, construction, and cold chain logistics. To ensure local compliance, Teltonika pays specific attention to the device certification both on global and on regional scale. We are proud that FMC650, 4G LTE Cat 1 tracking device from PROFESSIONAL category, received type-approval up to level 2 assurance from Transport Certification Australia, or TCA.
David Cornwell, Teltonika’s Head of Telematics sales division in Australia: “Obtaining type-approval from TCA is a significant milestone for Teltonika’s telematics business unit. As a hardware manufacturer with a strong connection to our local market, we are encouraging our technology partners to use our type-approved device for the Telematics Monitoring Application (TMA). For our partners looking to become TCA certified, our type-approved device can bring significant time and cost savings and reduce time to market.”
Paddy Goodall, Austroads General Manager of Service Delivery: “Obtaining type-approval for FMC650 provides Teltonika clients and partners with confidence that the device has been independently assessed and meets the performance-based requirements outlined in the Telematics Device Functional and Technical Specification. This white-label approach provides flexibility to telematics providers wishing to become a certified Application Service Provider (ASP). Leveraging the availability of the type-approved Teltonika device means that telematics providers can choose to overcome the need to present their own device for type-approval as part of the certification process.”
Transport Certification Australia (TCA) is a centre of excellence within Austroads, responsible for assessing and recognising telematics and other vehicle-based technologies. Through its administration of the National Telematics Framework, TCA helps Australian and New Zealand transport agencies collect data from vehicles in ways that are trusted by government and industry, and to provide data and analytical services that enable improved road outcomes.
